Overview Details Related BLOC Hotel - Birmingham Birmingham Following our successful involvement with the new Bloc hotel at Gatwick South Terminal, we were given the opportunity to deliver the working drawing package for the proposed extension to Bloc Birmingham. The extension to the existing 73 bedroom hotel in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham comprised of a full refurbishment and introduction of 9 bespoke hotel rooms within the retained building along with a further 24 newly developed Apart-rooms within the new extension. We were novated to the Main Contractor at the beginning of the project to head up the design team and provide a fully coordinated working drawings package. However, as the Apart-room was a new product for Bloc our involvement extended beyond our original agreement with the main contractor as we continued to work closely with the hotel to develop the new room type and their brand standards. Our work on these new rooms has now formed a major part of the hotel’s brand standards with the revised Apart-room prototype currently being developed ready for their upcoming projects.
