The Challenge

On Friday 13th and Saturday 14th April, we set the challenge of walking over 75,000 steps along the Isle of Purbeck past some of Dorset’s most beautiful coastal landmarks. This was a considerable undertaking but totally worth every one of the 57km that helped us raise over £1500 for Jane Scarth House - Romsey Cancer Support Centre who, provide free support for those living with cancer.

We'd like to give a massive thank you to everyone who supported us and helped by donating to such a great cause - you can view the funding page here

The Route

We are fortunate to have a team at BrightSpace that love the outdoors. Everyone loves to get out on walks in their spare time so where better to do this than along the South West Coast Path in Dorset. The stunning stretch of coast was the perfect location for a two-day adventure and relatively easy to navigate (after all, you just have to keep the sea to your left, right?)

On Day 1 we started at the Sandbanks Ferry and made our way through Studland, up and down to Swanage, across to Dancing Ledge and back down into Kingston - a total of 29Km (18M) and over 40,000 steps. Day 2 was a similar route which led us on a scenic tour across Corfe Castle and Agglestone Rock while on route to the Sandbanks Ferry.

For a behind the scenes look across the two days, please take a look at the pictures below:
