We are excited to announce that outline planning consent has been granted for 167 new homes on the existing REIDsteel site in Christchurch, Dorset.
Over the past year, BrightSpace Architects have worked closely with REIDsteel to produce plans for their four-acre site in the heart of Christchurch, Dorset, opening the opportunity for them to relocate to a new state-of-the-art facility near Bournemouth Airport.
Members of the BrightSpace team were present as BCP Council’s planning committee gave the go-ahead for the residential scheme which, will also include parking and access.
REIDsteel are one of the biggest employers in Christchurch and have a worldwide reputation for excellence in the custom design, engineering, fabrication and erection of a wide variety of pre-engineered steel frame buildings and structures. REIDsteel Managing Director, Simon Boyd, said:
"The housing development will leave a legacy of much-needed homes after we relocate. It will allow for regeneration of a key site in Christchurch, remove heavy industry away from the town centre, cut heavy traffic movements, and reduce noise and disruption for neighbours."
