Planning Approval for REID steel

BrightSPACE are pleased that our proposed designs for REIDsteel have been granted planning consent. The designs incorporate a new state-of-the-art manufacturing complex, offices, welfare facilities and associated yard space, parking, and landscaping at their Christchurch site.

The new facility will consolidate multiple processes under one roof to deliver more control, safer working environments and the ability to benefit from advances in technology to improve productivity. The factory layout sees the main plant area sitting within the central workshop, with the linear processes working along the length of the building. Large gantry cranes will run at high level in with smaller fabrication areas, stores and maintenance distributed around the remaining internal volume making for improved efficiency and increased productivity.

Welfare facilities are situated between the manufacturing and office buildings, providing a central location for all staff members. The offices will incorporate a variety of working environments to address the needs of a forward-thinking innovative business. The proposals also incorporate high levels of sustainability and the use of renewable technologies.

We have enjoyed working with REIDsteel and the wider design team over a number of years on this exciting project, it’s great to see all the hard work come to fruition.
